The TPS2556DRBR power-distribution switch is intended for applications where precision current limiting is required or heavy capacitive loads and short circuits are encountered. The TPS2556DRBR offers a programmable current-limit threshold between 500mA and 5.0 A (typ) via an external resistor. The power-switch rise and fall times are controlled to minimize current surges during turn on/off. The applications of the TPS2556DRBR include USB Ports/Hubs, Digital TV, Set-Top Boxes, VOIP Phones.
